Three days of sensational performances await crowds this weekend as actors and stagehands from Woodhull Intermediate School and Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School take the stage for the musical, “Beauty And the Beast Jr.” at Huntington High School

Woodhull Intermediate School physical education teacher Carrie Postel has implemented an exercise program she calls DrumFIT Fitness. The fourth, fifth and sixth graders in special education teacher Ashley Williams’ class are loving it.

Smiles. Plenty of smiles. That’s what everyone around Woodhull Intermediate School saw when January’s Eagles of the Month Awards were announced. Lots of happy children walking away with certificates. Classmates were happy, too.

“Informances” at Woodhull Intermediate School and Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School featured fourth grade chorus, orchestra and band students and programs earlier this week. Parents were invited to watch their child’s first concert where students had the ability to showcase all they have learned studying their instruments.

Woodhull Intermediate School students came into the new year of 2025 with the same enthusiasm they have been known for since the building first opened in January 1967.

Woodhull Intermediate School students learned about where our tap water comes from during a recent visited by the North Shore Land Alliance’s Long Island water education program. .

Principal Stephanie Campbell, Learners Who LEAD program teacher Nicole Leggio and a group of articulate students gave a look into Woodhull Intermediate School during a presentation at Monday’s Huntington School Board meeting.

Huntington High School’s A World of Difference club members and faculty advisors traveled to Woodhull Intermediate School to present training workshops for fifth graders in the building.

Veterans Day 2024 will always be remembered by Woodhull Intermediate School students participating in the Learners Who LEAD program. The youngsters painted rocks with inspirational messages and poppies, created heartfelt cards and designed American flag murals to honor and thank local veterans.

The Woodhull Intermediate School community was especially busy throughout October, which was designated as National Bullying Awareness Month. Woodhull students, teachers and staff came together to spread kindness and inclusivity in several meaningful ways.

A group of nineteen students who have been working very hard with impressive results was honored at Woodhull Intermediate School as Eagles of the Month. Two teachers were also recognized for their efforts along with the youngsters.

Woodhull Intermediate School’s sixth grade dual language culminating experience gave students a chance to shine while presenting their projects on “Spanish speaking countries” to an audience of parents, classmates and teachers.
