1. Open either the iOS or Android QR code provided to download the ParentSquare app and get started on your mobile device

Huntington UFSD has partnered with ParentSquare for school communication, primarily with email, text and app notifications. ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.

Here’s what you can do with ParentSquare:

  • Receive messages from the school via email, text or app notification
  • Choose to receive information as it comes or all at once with a daily digest at 6pm
  • Communicate in your preferred language
  • Comment on school postings to engage with your school community
  • Direct message teachers, staff and other parents
  • Participate in group messages
  • Sign up for parent-teacher conferences
  • Receive report cards, sign up to volunteer and more all from your desktop or mobile device

  • Google Translate in 100+ languages
  • Automatic, real-time translation
  • Translate Forms, Permission Slips, and Posts
  • Two-way translation with Direct Messaging
  • Send important Alerts in a user’s preferred language
  • Scroll for Documents

    • 1. Activate Your Account Click the link in your activation email/text, or sign up on parentsquare.com or via the ParentSquare app.
    • 2. Download App It’s easy to stay in the loop with the ParentSquare app. Download it now for iOS or Android devices.
    • 3. Set Preferences Click your name in the top right to set your notification and language preferences.
    • 4. Get Photos & Files Click ‘Photos & Files’ in sidebar to access pictures, forms, and documents that have been shared with you.
    • 5. Appreciate Posts Click ‘Appreciate’ in your email/app or website to thank a teacher or staff member for a post.
    • 6. Comment or Reply Click ‘Comment’ in app or website to privately ask a question about the post that your teacher or school sent.
    • 7. Participate Click ‘Sign Ups & RSVPs’ in the sidebar to see available opportunities. Click bell on top to check your commitments.
    • 8. Join a Group Click ‘Groups’ in the sidebar to join a group or committee at your school to participate or to stay upto-date.
    • 9. Find People Click ‘Directory’ in the sidebar to find contact information for school staff.
    • 10. Get in Touch Click ‘Messages’ in the sidebar to privately get in touch with staff and teachers.

    ParentSquare allows you to change your language setting so that you can receive posts in your preferred language: 

    • Using a Website Browser From Home, click the down arrow next to your name, in the upper right. Select My Account and  Click on Language Settings in the left hand sidebar. Choose your desired language
    • In the App, go to Account and then Preferences. You can change the language there.

    ParentSquare is a unified communication platform that offers a whole host of tools which allows district, school administrators and teachers to more effectively communicate and engage with families and students. Some features include:

    • Mass notifications and Urgent Alerts with two-way communication
    • Mobile application for administrators and parents (iOS and Android)
    • Attendance notifications
    • Teacher and classroom communication
    • Direct Messaging with two-way translation
    • Appointment Sign Ups (parent-teacher conferences, technology pick-ups)

    Huntington started using ParentSquare to communicate with parents during the 2021-2022 school year.

    Yes. Starting July 1, 2022, the following tools and services will no longer be available for Huntington staff members to use. The functionality of these tools is available in ParentSquare.

    • BlackboardConnect
    • ClassDojo
    • Remind 101
    • TalkingPoints

    You will still receive communications. All parents have a ParentSquare account. ParentSquare is the primary tool for district and school communication. Individuals who do not activate their account in ParentSquare will still receive an email digest at the end of each day that communication is sent out to them. In the event of emergencies, phone calls will be sent as well.

    The Huntington Union Free School District, your school, and teachers use ParentSquare to communicate with parents and guardians. This includes emergency messages as well as information closely related to the school’s educational mission. You will receive notifications via email, text, voice call, and posts from ParentSquare mobile app and ParentSquare portal, depending on the contact information you have in eSchool. Parents are automatically registered to receive notifications when they enroll their student. Please note that standard text messaging rates may apply for all text messages.

    To opt-out of receiving notifications, you can:

    • Emails: Click the Unsubscribe link in any email you receive
    • Text Messages: Click the Opt-Out link in the first text message you receive from ParentSquare. You can also reply STOP to any subsequent text you receive.
    • Phone Calls: Contact us at TBD 631-673-2073

    If you are not a parent or guardian and are receiving notifications in error, please contact us at 631-673-2073.

    * Note that even if you opt-out of receiving communication, you will still receive notifications for emergencies and other school information deemed important, such as attendance and lunch balances.

    To opt back in:

    • Contact your school with your email and cell phone number
    • Text Messages: If you sent STOP, you can reply START to any text you had received or send START to: TBD
