The J. Taylor Finley Middle School Community Club is dedicated to spreading kindness, giving back, and making a positive impact in our school and the Huntington community.

Throughout the year, club members participate in a variety of service projects, including displaying their school spirit in the Homecoming Day parade, organizing a food drive in November, and helping with a toy drive in December.

The seventh and eighth grade club members also visit a local nursing home to play bingo with residents, participate in a spring street cleanup throughout Huntington, and take part in the Kindness Rocks project to spread positivity and encouragement.

The club offers participants a way to learn, engage, share, communicate and interact in the Finley community as well as throughout Huntington and Huntington Station.

The large club membership is guided by faculty advisors Jessica Mollica and Ingrid Moreira. “The program is a way to build foundations, leadership and a sense of community and family within the middle school,” explained Mrs. Moreira. “The program identifies student role models and places them in the role of leadership.”

Through these activities and many others, the club encourages students to develop compassion, strengthen community connections, and discover how even small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
