Huntington Booster Club Begins Reorganization
May 27, 2026
The Huntington Booster Club has begun reorganizing its volunteers and transitioning new leadership into key positions as the entire Blue Devil program continues preparing for the 2026/27 school year.
The Huntington Booster Club was established to promote and encourage extracurricular activities, particularly athletic sports, for the students of the Huntington School District. The goals of the Booster Club are to provide financial support for annual scholarships, the purchase of specialized equipment, support for off-season training programs, and refreshments at athletic events and awards nights.
The primary focus of the Booster Club is to financially enhance the district’s athletic department budget in support of all sports. This is accomplished through fundraising throughout the course of the year.
Sarah Bergmann is transitioning to the Booster Club’s presidency as David Evans simultaneously wraps up some of his projects and vacates the position. Mr. Evans will still be involved, albeit in a lesser role with the organization. The transition to Mrs. Bergmann has been ongoing for many months.
The new leadership team and their positions also includes:
Vice President: Kerri Burke
Treasurer: Anne Dello-Iacono (Wayne Ackerman is outgoing)
Secretary: Meredith Shanley
Field House/Events: Kasey Knauer
Merchandise: Kerri Burke
Marketing: Meredith Shanley
Camps: Kristen Peters
Legal & Insurance: Frank Rinaldi
Banners: Lauren Purcell, Terry Gilroy
Student interns include Ava McDonald, Leighton Evans, Claire Dello-Iacono and Patrick Hassett. Additional students are also welcome to apply as interns for 2026/27. More information will be announced soon.
