Huntington Captures Section XI Sportsmanship Awards

Seven different varsity, junior varsity and Finley winter season athletic teams have captured Section XI Sportsmanship Awards as determined by the compilation of ratings submitted by the coaches in the respective leagues.
The award recipients were recently announced following a final determination of ratings. Coaches submit the ratings after each athletic contest. Teams are evaluated for the conduct of players, coaches and fans. Coaches also rate the officials working each of the contests.
The award winning teams and their coaches include the JV boys’ basketball team coached by Joseph Crocco, Finley “White” and Finley “Blue” boys’ basketball coached by Jake Torres and Tim Madden, Finley “White and Finley “Blue” girls’ basketball coached by Cole Rudnick and Shea Scully, varsity girls’ fencing coached by Michelle O’Brien, Malcolm Eugene and Lauren Blackburn and varsity boys’ swimming coached by Meg McConnell.
