Finley Artists Win Awards at Atelier Exhibition
March 18, 2026
Two J. Taylor Finley Middle School artists captured awards at the 5th Annual Middle & High School Student Artists Juried Show at The New Atelier at Flowerfield in St. James.
Finley’s Luna Ramirez and Andrew Parrott are both gifted artists in teacher Jessica Simms’ eighth grade Accelerated Studio in Art course.
Eight other Finley students also had artwork selected to appear in the well regarded exhibition, including Sydney Amar, Natalie Buchner, Isla Campbell, Charlotte Rizzo, Ava Tortora, Julia Lanzilotta, Delany Madden and Katherine Gooch.
Huntington UFSD was among 25 Long Island districts to participate in the juried show. Ms. Ramirez and Mr. Parrott were just two of four Honorable Mention Award recipients and two of just seven student-artists overall between the ages of 11-14 to claim awards.
Several Finley artists and their families attended a reception on Saturday, March 7, celebrating their artwork being selected for display.
The exhibition at The Atelier at Flowerfield encourages the work of middle and high school student artists in all visual arts except photography and video. It is being held in The Atelier’s 2,000 square foot gallery, which functions both as a professional studio space and exhibition area. The gallery is open Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is no charge to enter.
