Huntington High School Hosts Successful Spring College Fair

March 11, 2026

Huntington High School recently welcomed more than 50 colleges and universities to campus for its annual Spring College Fair, providing sophomores and juniors with an opportunity to explore a wide range of postsecondary options and begin meaningful conversations about their future.

Students in grades 10 and 11 had the opportunity to meet directly with admissions representatives from institutions across the country, learning about academic programs, campus life, admissions expectations, and scholarship opportunities. Representatives from a diverse group of public and private institutions—including large research universities, specialized colleges, and regional campuses—filled the high school gymnasium, creating an energetic and informative environment for students beginning their college exploration process.

Throughout the event, students asked questions, collected information, and began building connections with admissions counselors. The fair is part of Huntington High School’s broader commitment to early college awareness and post-secondary planning, ensuring students are well-informed as they begin thinking about life after graduation.

Huntington’s college counselor Bernadette Walsh worked hard to organize and coordinate the fair along with Dr. Papandrea and her counseling colleagues.

“Events like the Spring College Fair give students a valuable opportunity to explore possibilities and start envisioning their future,” said Dr. Ricky Papandrea, director of school counseling and testing, K-12. “Meeting directly with college representatives helps students better understand the wide range of opportunities available to them and empowers them to begin thinking intentionally about their goals after high school.”

The Spring College Fair continues to be an important tradition at Huntington High School, supporting students as they begin the college search process and helping them take the first steps toward their postsecondary goals.
