June 18, 2026
Fifteen spectacular Huntington High School athletes were presented with Section XI Gold Key awards at the 58th Blue Devil senior athletic awards ceremony this week in the auditorium.
The Gold Key is the highest honor a Suffolk athlete can receive for sports participation.
This year’s award recipients include Emma Boyle (Boston University), Bridget Callery (Quinnipiac University, Ryan Donovan (SUNY Oswego), Kymora Dorvilus (Sacred Heart University) Gueniel Elysee (Nassau Community College), Henry Gerberg (Indiana University), Grace Gordon (Lafayette College}, Ruby Hoffman (Villanova University), Isabella Palacios (Univ. of Michigan), William Peters (Monmouth University), Vincent Pupillo (Clemson University), Jean Riboul (Morgan State University), Matthew Ross (Nassau Community College), Banny Soc Concua (Univ of Delaware) and Jolie Weinschreider (Rutgers University).
Huntington Superintendent Beth M. McCoy formally presented each recipient with a plaque and a small gold key charm. The Gold Key is a Section XI award emphasizing participation in interscholastic athletics while recognizing proficiency in performance. The award is presented at every Suffolk high school to students who have lettered in eight of nine seasons on varsity or junior varsity teams between their sophomore and senior years
The 15 seniors came together for a photo to commemorate the occasion and their achievement. Last year, Huntington had ten Gold Key Award recipients. The Blue Devils are on a campaign to increase the number of three-season athletes to better compete in all sports.
