Huntington Chamber Choir Performs at Suffolk Legislature

The Huntington High School Chamber Choir traveled to Hauppauge this week to perform the national anthem prior to a meeting of the Suffolk County Legislature. The group was invited to sing by County Legislator Rebecca Sanin.
Directed by Charles Colasanti, the Huntington Chamber Choir consists of:
Soprano: Caleigh Camarata, Jessica Lee, Casey Myers, Ella Van Horn
Alto: Emily Barba, Lauren Dopico, Rachel Huth, Avery Joynt
Tenor: Michael DiVincenzo, Walter Lopez, Sergio Portillo
Bass: Kevin Dominguez, Dennis McCook, Alexander Tine
Mr. Colasanti attended Hofstra University and received a Bachelor of Science in Music Education degree in 2022, as well as a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from Stony Brook University in 2025. Prior to his appointment in the Huntington School District, he taught middle school choir in the Patchogue-Medford School District, as well as directing the show choir and co-directed musicals.
At Huntington High School, Mr. Colasanti was appointed as choral director in 2024, He teaches Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, and conducts the Acapella ensemble.
It was a standing room only event at the Suffolk County Legislature for the performance, with many Huntington UFSD stakeholders in attendance.
“The students represented Huntington High School with tremendous talent and professionalism and we were honored to have them participate,” said Legislative Aide Jennifer Duclay.
