Huntington SEPTA Presents Seniors with Scholarships

July 15, 2026

Huntington UFSD’s SEPTA chapter presented $2,000 worth of continuing education scholarships to four members of the high school’s Class of 2026, including William Brooks, Tiffany Campos Saravia, Connor DiBenedetto and Juanita Marquez Alvarez. Each of the awards includes a financial stipend of $500.

The awards were presented by department director Diana Rich during Huntington High School’s senior scholarships and awards ceremony.

“SEPTA recognizes that students have a broad range of learning styles and abilities,” according to the organization. “We aim to support existing or innovative new programs so that each child’s educational experience is maximized. SEPTA sponsors a variety of events as well as unique activities for all children.”

“These students were chosen because they exemplify core values of perseverance, leadership and dedication,” Ms. Rich said. “These students have overcome challenges, achieved academic success and are identified as positive peer role models throughout the school and greater community.”

“SEPTA members collaborate and strengthen partnerships among the district’s staff and serve as a resource for parents and teachers,” according to the group. “Throughout the school year, SEPTA holds informal meetings or Coffee Talks for parents to connect. SEPTA also hosts presentations, inviting speakers who address an array of relevant topics.” All SEPTA meetings and presentations are free of charge.
