The Huntington Connection Newsletter

January 9, 2026

A new four page newsletter highlighting all the great things that comprise Huntington UFSD was recently published and mailed to district residents. It touches upon many aspects of academics, operations, the student experience, family and community engagement, a spotlight on the arts and athletics and a message from the Huntington School Board.

The newsletter features an easy to read format. There are seven photos and a QR code that brings those who scan it to the district’s new strategic plan, called a Blueprint for Excellence.

Some of the academic highlights shared in the newsletter concern the performance of Huntington High School on Advanced Placement exams. The total number of AP test takers with scores of 3 or higher has gone from 70 percent in 2021 to 84 percent in 2025.

In 2025, the high school had 83 AP Scholars, 33 AP Scholars with Honors, 58 AP Scholars with Distinction, 11 Capstone diploma recipients and four AP Seminar and Research certificate qualifiers. “Over a two-year period, the district saw a 65 percent increase in AP Scholars,” states the newsletter.

The new publication also lists numerous capital projects that have been completed in recent years ranging from boiler and roof installations and solar rooftop panels to renovations, remodeling and reconstruction of spaces across the district, including air conditioning, bocce courts, a turf field and athletic lights.
