Flower Hill Celebrates P.S. I Love You Week
February 27, 2026
The Flower Hill Primary School community came together to celebrate P.S. I Love You Week, a meaningful initiative focused on spreading kindness, inclusion, and hope. Throughout the week, students and staff participated in activities that reinforced the importance of making others feel valued, supported, and reminded that they are never alone.
To culminate the celebration, students and staff wore purple on Friday in recognition of P.S. I Love You Day — observed annually on the second Friday in February — standing together against bullying, raising awareness about mental health, and promoting suicide prevention.
In Flower Hill’s first grade dual language classroom, Erika Brignati and her students chose to do something extra special. With the support of class parents Kate Laffey and Merrissa Morin, the class participated in a heartfelt activity designed to spread appreciation throughout their school community.
Students brainstormed the names of staff members who help make Flower Hill a caring, safe, and welcoming place each day. Among those recognized were Principal Cindy Siegel, security guard Mr. DJ, cafeteria manager Jackie Apelsinov and attendance secretary Tara Cullen.
Each staff member was surprised with a tulip and a personalized card explaining why a student chose to honor them; small gestures that delivered powerful messages of gratitude and love.
“Through thoughtful words and simple acts of kindness, Flower Hill’s students demonstrated that even the smallest acts can make a lasting impact,” Ms. Siegel said.
