February 25, 2026

The Huntington High School varsity girls’ soccer team will be heading into the 2026 season with a new head coach. Jennifer Corcoran was appointed in a unanimous vote by the Huntington School Board to lead the program.

Mrs. Corcoran comes to the Blue Devils with sterling credentials, having been raised in Connecticut in a family of star athletes, making the Under-16 national team and playing three years at Big 12 conference champion University of Texas at Austin. She returned to her home state for her final year of college, playing at the University of Connecticut, where she served as captain of the team that won the Big East conference and finished second in the country in NCAA Division I.

“My passion for soccer began at age five, growing up in a competitive household of NCAA Division I athletes,” Mrs. Corcoran said. “My brother, Ben played golf at Tulane and my brother Max, was a national champion with the UConn men’s soccer program.”

The Blue Devils’ new head coach replaces Danielle Raguzin, who has moved into Huntington UFSD’s administrative ranks as head of the science department for grades K-12.

Longtime assistant coach Vincent Tannazzo is staying on in his position, providing the program with continuity. Most of the Blue Devil starting lineup will be returning next fall raising hopes for an exciting season.

“My own collegiate journey began at the University of Texas, where I followed Coach Chris Petrucelli from Notre Dame,” Mrs. Corcoran said. “During my time at Texas, we won the Big 12 tournament and appeared in the NCAA tournament. I later transferred to UConn to be closer to home, serving as co-captain during my senior year. We won the Big East conference and finished the 2003 season as national runners-up in the NCAA Final Four against University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. One of the highlights of my career was playing for Anson Dorrance on the U.S. U-16 Girls National Team and later competing against him in that Final Four championship game.”

Huntington UFSD athletic department officials zeroed in on Mrs. Corcoran early once they learned of her interest. Few Long Island coaches can match her sterling credentials.

“Beyond the field, my education and athletic background have fueled an 18-year career in medical sales within women’s health,” Mrs. Corcoran said. “For the past three years, I have worked for Natera, where I manage a successful team in Suffolk County.”

Fall season practices will begin on Monday, August 24 with scrimmages and games being permitted to be held a week later.

“I am thrilled to bring my experiences as a player, captain and professional leader to the girls’ varsity soccer program at Huntington High School,” Mrs. Corcoran said. “Having watched many of these athletes play over the last few years, I am impressed by their speed and toughness. I look forward to an exciting season ahead. Let’s go Blue Devils!”
