Finley Students are On a Roll
February 11, 2026
Keeping kids motivated and inspired, too. That’s what J. Taylor Finley Middle School’s On a Roll program seeks to do. Principal Traci Roethel knows it can make a difference in the lives of students and propel them to new heights.
Finley teachers try to inspire the seventh and eighth graders in the building on a daily basis. The efforts are proving fruitful as the school’s On A Roll program shows.
“Finley Middle School is proud to celebrate our students who earned On a Roll recognition,” Assistant Principal Alexis Estrada said. “These students demonstrated dedication and perseverance by increasing their overall grade average by at least five points from the first marking period to the second marking period. Their hard work, focus, and commitment to growth truly paid off, and we are excited to recognize their achievement.”
The award winning students were gathered together in Finley’s Blue Zone main lobby and took a series of commemorative photos. The program is continuing during the third marking period. Students will be recognized for raising their grade point averages from one quarter to the next.
Mrs. Roethel said that Finley teachers and staff members will everything they can to keep student motivation levels high right through June.
“We applaud their effort and determination and encourage all students to continue striving toward their personal best,” Ms. Estrada said. “Keep up the great work!”
