The Jack Abrams sixth grade placed in the Top 10 overall on the robotics leaderboard with a total score of 220 points. With the added scores from their innovation project presentation that they shared with a panel of judges, they advanced to the championship round.
Fifth grade placed in the Top 7 overall on the robotics leaderboard with a total score of 190 points. With the added scores from their innovation project presentation that they shared with a panel of judges, they moved up to the Top 5 scoring teams making them eligible to advance.
“The judges were incredibly impressed with the fifth grade team’s innovation project presentation and that they were able to persevere even with three of their teammates not attending due to the competition date being moved from the snowstorm on January 26,” Principal Donna Moro said.
Both teams were honored with an award for their hard work and perseverance throughout the season.
The sixth grade team received a Rising All Star Award, which “celebrates a team that the judges notice and expect great things from in the future.”
The fifth grade was awarded a Core Values Award, which is presented to the team that “displays extraordinary enthusiasm and spirit, knows they can accomplish more together than they could as individuals, and shows each other and other teams respect at all times.”
