School-Wide Student Council Officers Tapped for 2026-27
April 28, 2026
Huntington High School’s student government grade level organizations are reorganizing with elections looming over the next few weeks. The school-wide organization is already set with a new group of highly motivated students ready to assume their positions.
The 2026/27 executive lineup for the school-wide student council features President: Maddy Falk; Vice President: Alex Boeckmann; Treasurer: Sena Knopf; Secretary: Leah MacManus and Public Relations Coordinator: Alexa Wasoski.
One of the first projects the student leaders will work on concerns the 2026 Homecoming Day festivities scheduled for Saturday, October 17, beginning with a parade through Huntington Village, a football game pitting the Blue Devils against visiting Newfield and a boys’ soccer game on Saturday night.
Festivities will begin in earnest on Thursday night, October 15 when the high school hosts a bonfire in the parking lot and holds a related festival packed with games and food. There will be live performances and team introductions.
Friday will feature the high school’s annual afternoon pep rally, complete with short performances by varsity fall teams. The Highsteppers, United Amigos and the Blue Devil marching band will also take turns performing. The Homecoming king and queen will be announced at the pep rally.
Each of the four class floats will be constructed throughout the school day on Friday. There will be a Friday afternoon field hockey game followed by an evening girls’ soccer game under the Alumni Field lights.
Saturday will include final judging of the class floats followed by the parade through town. The afternoon football game promises to be a hard-hitting affair with Huntington going into battle against Newfield. The winning class float will be announced during the game.
Following the midafternoon football game, the boys’ soccer team will play an evening game under the Alumni Field lights.
