Puccio Sisters Put on a Memorable Show at Alumni Field

April 24, 2026

The Puccio’s put on an amazing display at Huntington High School’s Alumni Field on Wednesday afternoon, leading the Blue Devils past visiting Half Hollow Hills, 16-4. The sisters combined for 10 goals and four assists to send fans into near delirium. Huntington is now 9-0.

Sophomore Olivia Puccio (23 goals; 16 assists) tallied six goals and three assists and senior sister Valentina Puccio (34g; 9a) notched four goals and an assist to propel the Blue Devils. Huntington has outscored its opponents 133-33 over nine games.

Sophomore starting goalie Juliet Johnson (49 saves) is a perfect 9-for-9 this. She stopped five shots against Half Hollow Hills as the Blue Devil defense once again shutdown an opposing team’s offense. Junior Andie DiGioia came on in relief and added a save.

Against the Red Colts, senior Bridget Callery (7g; 8a) had two goals and two assists and senior Grace Gordon (17g; 18a) added a pair of goals and an assist. Senior Jolie Weinschreider (31g; 16) also had a goal and four assists. Freshman Norah Golden (7g; 4a) also found the back of the net.

While Huntington might be rolling, it will be severely tested in upcoming non-league games against Ridgewood, New Jersey and Cold Spring Harbor. League games remain against William Floyd, Walt Whitman, Northport, Riverhead and Ward Melville.

The Blue Devil defense has been remarkable. It is being led by Claire Dello-Iacono, Leigh Evans, Madyn Kalb, Ava McDonald and Izzy Palacios. Kate Gordon, Cassidy Harris, Kyra Larsen, Caroline Mitek, Brianna Purcell and Kaitlyn Purcell are also members of the highly regarded defensive unit.

Huntington is led by co-head coaches Megan Marinelli and Chris Taylor, assistant Lauren Blackburn and volunteer assistant Lauren Schwalje.
