Blue Devil Varsity Spring Captains Named

Eleven Blue Devil varsity spring teams have a full complement of captains after they were either elected to the positions by their teammates or appointed by their coaches.

The varsity spring season team captains include:

Girls Lacrosse: Jolie Weinschreider, Bridget Callery, Ava McDonald, Grace Gordon

Girls Spring Track & Field: Distance: Kiley Barch, Emma Boyle, Norah Moskowitz; Sprinting: Jamyn Husselbeck, Dana Saramago, Justina Hlenski; Throwing: Jesley Martinez, Anis Oyuela

Boys Spring Track & Field: Gueniel Elysee, Banny Soc Concua, Eric Heinz, Wilmer Benitez, Matthew Ross

Coaches have been asked by athletic department officials to make the role of captain a meaningful one rather than just ceremonial in nature. The captains should meet regularly with both their teammates and coaches and share the concerns of each with the other. They should be role models in work ethic, sportsmanship and in their daily approach to academic classes, practices and games. They should seek excellence in all that they do.
