They are just as important as ever in Huntington UFSD, which is celebrating the dedicated professionals and everything they do for students and teachers.

The special day recognizes the professionals who keep school libraries in working order. They are also committed to helping children find the resources they need to keep learning. School librarians are the people who create an environment where students can learn every day of the year. Their work is an impressive accomplishment.

"These resources also connect them to libraries around the world. A school librarian's ability to manage scores of media and a school full of students with numerous projects and schedules is simply amazing.

The nation’s first U.S. Public Library was established in 1790 by Benjamin Franklin, who donated a collection of books to the town of Franklin, Massachusetts.
