Something for Everyone: Clubs Take Flight at Woodhull

Woodhull students have plenty of opportunities to explore their interests, try something new, build friendships, and get involved beyond the classroom during the 2026–27 school year! From robotics and mathematics to performing arts, leadership, journalism, athletics, and more, our clubs offer something for everyone. This year, we are excited to add two new opportunities to our growing list of clubs!

NEW First LEGO League (Grade 6)

Our First LEGO League club gives sixth-grade students an opportunity to explore STEM through hands-on robotics. Students work together to design, build, code, test, and improve LEGO robots while tackling real-world challenges. Along the way, they develop creativity, confidence, teamwork, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

NEW Math Olympiads (Grades 5–6)

Students who enjoy a challenge can put their mathematical thinking to the test through our new Math Olympiads program. Students explore engaging problems that go beyond the regular classroom curriculum while strengthening logical thinking, perseverance, creativity, and confidence as mathematicians.

Podcast Club (Grades 5–6)

Woodhull's student voices take center stage through the Hello Huntington podcast. This year's "Let's Talk About It" series gives students opportunities to explore topics they care about, discuss different perspectives with peers and staff, and share information with listeners. Topics include social media, AI, and what adults may not understand about being a kid in 2026.

Student Council (Grades 4–6)

Student Council gives our Eagles an opportunity to lead and make a difference. Classroom representatives and elected officers help organize service projects and charitable initiatives, participate in school cleanups and garden beautification, celebrate student successes and special events, and build school spirit throughout the year.

Drama Club (Grades 4–6)

The curtain will rise on Seussical this year! Students interested in performing can audition for the cast, while those who prefer to work behind the scenes can join the crew. Drama Club provides a place for students with many different talents and interests to work together to bring a full musical production to life.

Salsa Club (Grades 4–6)

Salsa Club gets our Eagles moving while introducing them to the history and origins of salsa music and dance. Beginners and experienced dancers learn "shines," or footwork that can be performed without a partner. Students even have the opportunity to showcase what they learned at our annual talent show!

Newspaper Club (Grades 4–6)

Our student journalists help spread the Woodhull news through a digital newspaper written and created by students. Newspaper Club gives Eagles an opportunity to share stories, report on what's happening around our school, and use their creativity and writing skills to keep the Woodhull community informed.

Intramurals (Grades 4–6)

Early Morning Intramurals give students an active start to their school day! Beginning at 8:00 a.m., students enjoy approximately 45 minutes of exercise, games, and fun. The first half of the year focuses on soccer, while the second half shifts to basketball activities and games such as Knock-Out, Around the World, and PIG.

Whether students want to build a robot, solve a challenging math problem, take the stage, report the news, share their voice, serve their school, learn some new dance moves, or get active with friends, Woodhull's clubs provide opportunities for every Eagle to discover new interests and get involved.

We can't wait to see our Eagles explore, create, lead, and SOAR together this year!
