Huntington Music Students Tapped for All-County Festival

Seven Huntington High School juniors and seniors have been named to the New York State Council of Administrators of Music Education - Suffolk chapter’s All-County performing groups that will take the stage at the All-County Festival concert at Hauppauge in November.

Caleigh Camarata (Soprano 1), Ella Van Horn (Soprano), Manpreet Kaur (Double Bass), Isis Jimenez (Violin 2), Joseph Herman (Trombone 2-1), Katherine Duke (French Horn 1-2) and Sara Persampire (Tenor Sax 1-3).

The mission of the New York State Council of Administrators of Music Education is to provide a source of communication, development, and support for all leaders responsible for facilitating the music education of the students of New York State.

Huntington UFSD prides itself on offering an exceptional music program with a long list of performance opportunities. Students have been capturing awards for more than 100 years.

New York State Council of Administrators of Music Education’s All-County selections represents the “best of the best” seniors only across Suffolk County. These students are selected based on their All-State NYSSMA scores and represent the highest achieving senior musicians.

The students will have three rehearsals in November prior to the concert at Hauppauge High School. All of the Huntington honorees have been immersed in the district’s music program for many years. The teenagers said that music is a big part of their daily life.
