Powering District Success - Huntington Recognizes Its Dedicated IT Team
September 9, 2026
Behind every digital lesson, secure login, and connected classroom device at Huntington UFSD is a team of dedicated IT professionals keeping the district’s infrastructure running without a hitch.
Huntington UFSD joins schools nationwide in celebrating National IT Professionals Day, honoring the essential work of its technology team.
Led by Network and Systems Coordinator Brian Landers, who oversees district-wide tech operations under Assistant Superintendent for Finance & Management Services Dr. Rubie Harris, the department, handles an ever expanding ecosystem of educational systems and physical hardware.
This year, the district proudly highlights its key network and systems technicians:
• Mike Tudisco: Serving the district since December 1999, Mr. Tudisco is the backbone of the department. With deep expertise across all district technology, he manages the Cisco network infrastructure, wireless systems, phone systems, and macOS devices. He primarily supports Huntington High School.
• Brian Moreira: Since joining in March 2025, Mr. Moreira has played a key role in cybersecurity by monitoring and responding to all flagged email threats. He also manages the district's iPad fleet via the Mobile Device Management system and while providing tech support to primary schools.
• Chris Deveau: Transitioning to the IT team in July 2025 from the Security Department, Mr. Deveau oversees the district's physical security systems, including surveillance cameras, access card readers, vape detectors, and lockdown systems. He also monitors daily suspicious logins while supporting the intermediate schools.
• Matt Bogardt, Travis Newman, and Joel Galeas: The district also contracts with three technicians. Matt Bogardt, Travis Newman and Joel Galeas play critical support roles in our Technology Department. Mr. Bogardt supports the Finley Middle School. Mr. Newman supports the primary school while Mr. Galeas provides Chromebook support for students district wide.
“Technology in education moves fast, and our team works hard behind the scenes to keep our schools secure, connected, and ahead of the curve,” Mr. Landers said. “When technology functions seamlessly in the classroom, it creates incredible learning opportunities for our students. From managing thousands of devices to strengthening our daily cybersecurity, this team ensures our teachers can teach and our students can learn without missing a beat.”
Beyond their individual specialties, the entire team manages critical administrative systems like Google Admin (Chromebook management), GoGuardian, and Office 365, while maintaining everyday hardware like Smartboards, Windows devices, and printers across every building.
“No matter the challenge, this team approaches every issue with a problem solving mindset and an unwavering commitment to our schools,” Mr. Landers added. “Whether they’re responding to an urgent request during the school day or putting in hours outside the normal schedule to prepare for tomorrow, their effort behind the scenes makes all the difference.”
