Huntington Highlights: Flower Hill's Allison Conlon

October 30, 2026

The Huntington Union Free School District is proud to recognize Allison Conlon, a third-grade teacher at Flower Hill Primary School, as part of its Huntington Highlights staff recognition series. A proud Huntington alumna, Ms. Conlon has brought her passion for education, creativity, and dedication to students back to the very district that helped shape her own educational journey.

After graduating from Huntington High School, Ms. Conlon attended the University of Delaware, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 2013. She continued her professional education at the American College of Education, earning a master's degree in Literacy Education in 2018.

Ms. Conlon began her career in the Huntington School District in January 2015 as a long-term substitute teacher. Her commitment to students and enthusiasm for teaching led to her appointment as a full-time teacher in August 2016. Since then, she has become an integral member of the Flower Hill school community, creating a classroom environment where students feel supported, challenged, and excited to learn.

Known for her innovative and engaging instructional practices, Ms. Conlon consistently goes above and beyond to make learning meaningful and memorable. She incorporates creative themed days, hands-on activities, Whole Brain Teaching techniques, and interactive instructional strategies that encourage active participation while reinforcing important curricular concepts. Her ability to bring lessons to life helps foster a love of learning among her students.

Beyond her classroom responsibilities, Ms. Conlon is an active leader throughout the school community. She serves on Flower Hill's Action Team, is a Technology Mentor for the building, and holds the position of Co-President of the school's PTA. Through these roles, she collaborates with colleagues, supports families, and contributes to initiatives that strengthen the overall school experience.

Ms. Conlon's dedication to Huntington also extends beyond the elementary classroom. As the Girls Varsity Assistant Field Hockey Coach at Huntington High School, she has the opportunity to mentor and support student-athletes while continuing to demonstrate her Huntington pride. Whether she is coaching on the field, supporting schoolwide initiatives, or attending her elementary students' extracurricular activities and special events, Ms. Conlon consistently demonstrates her commitment to the children and families she serves.

"Ms. Conlon builds meaningful relationships with her students and families, and her passion for teaching and genuine care for children are evident in everything she does," said Flower Hill Principal Cindy Siegel, who nominated her for this recognition. "We are incredibly fortunate to have her as part of the Flower Hill family."

For Ms. Conlon, being a Huntington graduate and now having the opportunity to educate the next generation of Huntington students makes her connection to the district especially meaningful. Her journey from student to teacher and coach reflects the strong sense of community and tradition that makes Huntington such a special place.
