Huntington Educators Showcase AP Cybersecurity Pathway at LITES Conference
October 29, 2026
Huntington UFSD educators Nick Wagner and Gina Maniscalco showcased the district’s computer science pathway, highlighting the AP Cybersecurity course, at the Long Island Technology and Education Summit (LITES).
The conference brought together educators from across Long Island for meaningful discussions about educational resources, curriculum development, and best practices for preparing students for success in an increasingly technology-driven world.
The AP Cybersecurity course provides students with opportunities to develop essential knowledge and skills in cybersecurity through five units of study: Introduction to Security, Securing Spaces, Securing Networks, Securing Devices, and Securing Applications and Data. Students learn to analyze and mitigate risk, detect attacks, and collaborate to address cybersecurity challenges.
Aligned with industry-recognized certifications, including CompTIA Security+ and Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST): Cybersecurity, the course connects classroom learning with real-world applications and potential career pathways in the growing field of cybersecurity.
Huntington UFSD is proud of Nick Wagner and Gina Maniscalco for sharing the district’s work with fellow educators and contributing to conversations that support innovative learning opportunities and help prepare students for future academic and career success.
