Huntington Blue Devils Marching Band Continues to Grow Through Competition
October 6, 2026
The Huntington Blue Devils Marching Band (HBDMB) continues to demonstrate its commitment, perseverance, and pride as students take the field and challenge themselves through another exciting season of competition.
This past weekend, the HBDMB competed in a very close division matchup, placing fourth among four competing groups. While the final placement was a reflection of an extremely competitive field, the experience provided another valuable opportunity for our students to perform, learn, and continue developing their skills.
Despite challenging weather conditions, the students remained focused and committed to delivering their best performance. Dr. Robert Wottawa shared his pride in the students and their perseverance, saying, “Our team and students worked so hard despite the rain and managed to feel amazing about their performance. Through perseverance, we will improve each time we step out onto the field.”
Each competition is an opportunity for the HBDMB to refine its performance, strengthen its skills, and build upon the hard work taking place throughout the season. Our students continue to embrace the process, learning from each experience and working together to become stronger performers and teammates.
The HBDMB will have two exciting opportunities to perform next weekend:
• Saturday, October 10, 2026 - Halftime Performance
• Sunday, October 11, 2026 - Competition at Arlington High School
As the season continues, we are incredibly proud of the dedication and determination demonstrated by our students. They continue to show up, work hard, support one another, and represent Huntington with tremendous pride.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to the Huntington Union Free School District Board of Education, Central Administration, staff, chaperones, roadies, and parents for their ongoing support of the marching band. Their countless hours of dedication and encouragement play an essential role in creating these meaningful experiences for our students.
The Huntington Blue Devils Marching Band continues to grow with every performance, and we cannot wait to see what these talented students accomplish next!
