Huntington Wins Gold in Eastern Student Artist Guild Program

May 7, 2026

Huntington High School drama club members earned honors in this year’s Eastern Student Artist Guild program. ESAG is a vibrant community of young creators dedicated to celebrating and advancing the arts.

Founded on the belief that student voices deserve to be heard, ESAG is a recognition event for high school plays without music, where emerging artists can share their work, connect with peers, and grow through mentorship and creative opportunities.

The awards ceremony was held late last month at the historic Tarrytown Music Hall. The beautiful and spacious venue was ready to host the organization’s biggest celebration yet; honoring the creativity, courage, and artistry of student theatre across the region.

Huntington’s award recipients and ratings included:

Performance by a Student in a Drama

Lily Wasoski - Wendy

Gold

From the judges: “This is a difficult part - at once the main character as well as the audiences eyes in this retelling of the Peter Pan stories through the lens of modern life and psychology - and Lily gives a very raw and mature performance as Wendy. She brings a mature quality to this story of "never growing up" as the character goes through the very familiar and yet very thorny transition of wanting to grow up and clinging to the comforts of childhood. Very good work!

Supporting Performance by a Student in a Drama

Ella Triolo - A/Cora

Deveren Flynn - B/Callie

Iliana Jarmolowski - C/Krista

Gold

From the judges: “These characters serve as a Greek Chorus to Wendy's story, moving with her and often speaking her inner thoughts and anxieties. The three actors have great chemistry with each other and with Lily as Wendy, creating an almost dance-like quality as they show her inner turmoil.”

Ensemble in a Drama

Cast of Lost Girl

Gold

From the judges: “The Ensemble proves a worthy foil to Wendy throughout the production - it is as if the whole stage were a reflection of Wendy's mind and the different characters - detectives, doctors, therapists, friends, family - all burst through her subconscious in vivid moments of clarity. The Ensembles works together very well to show a complex state - the inner life of a young woman transitioning into adulthood.”

Drama Production

Cast & Crew of Lost Girl

Gold

From the judges: “Lost Girl tackles the idea of fairy tale as metaphor for growth and growing up. All aspects of this production, from set and lights to costume and acting, work very well together on a complex script - the young people here seem to understand and appreciate the dangers of fairy tales, with their stories of loss and abandonment, as well as the coldness of life outside of Neverland in the Law, Medicine and Psychiatry. Well done!”
