Certificate of Congressional Recognition Presented to Ethan Ambrosio
July 29, 2026
Huntington Class of 2026 member Ethan Ambrosio is this year’s recipient of a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition issued by US Representative Thomas Suozzi. District Chairman of Social Studies Joseph Leavy made the presentation at the high school’s departmental awards ceremony in the auditorium.
An Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction, Mr. Ambrosio intends to study international security at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York. He was inducted as a member into multiple academic honor societies over the past four years.
“The key to my success has been having persistent and clear goals throughout my life,” Mr. Ambrosio said. “Even though they change, goals help motivate me and streamline my efforts so that I don’t waste my time. I’ve enjoyed playing music, making friends, building strong bond with my teachers, and discovering new passions throughout my high school career. When I first entered high school, I had a pretty bleak view of the world, but these experiences helped me grow and see things differently. Some of my highlights on my extracurricular activities include working from virtually nothing to captaincy in the marching band. I also contributed to an award-winning play during my freshman year, earned the rank of Eagle Scout and participated in the Youth Court.”
