Fall Driver Education Program Details Released

Registration information regarding Huntington High School’s fall driver education program has been released along with the application and semester calendar. The course will run from Monday, September 28 to Thursday, November 19.

The fall driver education program is open to students who will reach the age of 16 by September 25 and who hold a New York State learner’s permit.

The program is limited to the first 32 students who file an application and register. The order of registration will be determined by time stamped emails sent to driversed@hufsd.edu.

The following is the application schedule:

• Monday: September 14; HHS Seniors, Class of 2027; Email sent between 6 a.m. – 11:59 p.m.

• Tuesday: September 15; HHS Juniors, Class of 2028; Email sent between 6 a.m. – 11:59 p.m.

• Wednesday, September 16; HHS Sophomores, Class of 2029; Email sent between 6 a.m. – 11:59 p.m.

• Thursday, September 17; All others/non-residents; Email sent between 6 a.m. – 11:59 p.m.

The application email sent during the above window must include a clear picture of the application form. Once an applicant receives a response to their email they will be able to register in the athletic office (Room 122) on Friday, September 18 beginning at 2:30 p.m. The cost of the program is $650 for district residents and $675 for non-residents. Checks should be made payable to Huntington High School Driver Education Program.

Lecture classes will be held on Monday and Tuesday from 6:00-7:30 p.m. or 7:30-9:00 p.m. Students must attend both days of lecture.

In car driving will be conducted on either Monday and Wednesday (Groups 1-4) or Tuesday and Thursday (Groups 5-8) from 2:30-4:00 p.m. or 4:00-5:30 p.m. Make ups for Groups 1-4 will be held on Monday, November 23. Make ups for Groups 5-8 will be held on Tuesday, November 24,
