Administrative Corps Participates in Two Days of Workshops

August 21, 2026

With the first day of school just around the corner, Huntington UFSD’s administrative corps participated in two days of workshops this week in the Jack Abrams Intermediate School library.

All district administrators attended the sessions, which provided updates on practices, policies, regulations and laws and reviewed priorities for the new school year. Superintendent Beth McCoy presided over the meetings.

First day sessions included curriculum and instruction updates and reminders, workplace violence prevention training, special education updates, immunization requirements, behavior intervention practices and reporting and training on using the state’s teacher evaluation system.

The second day featured sessions on the business office and technology updates, security, legal updates and procedures, including due process protections, suspensions and CPS, human resources, staffing and procedural updates. There was an hourlong general question and answer period, too.

The workshops and related networking ran from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both days. Mrs. McCoy spoke about the district’s focus and her enthusiasm starting a new school year. The administrators huddled up with each other, discussing shared issues and typical beginning of the year challenges.

The district’s central office, building and department level leaders are set for what they all hope will another memorable year in the long history of Huntington UFSD.
