Wynne Franciscovich to Study Chemistry at Charleston
August 7, 2026
Huntington’s Wynne Franciscovich will head off to the College at Charleston to study chemistry after four years of high school that have been packed with personal growth and achievement.
An Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction and a Distinguished Senior, Ms. Franciscovich performed with the Blue Devil marching band’s color guard unit, helped Huntington Robotics reach the finals at the Hudson Valley Invitational and earned awards in both wrestling and soccer.
“The key to my success has been the support of my parents in my busy schedule, my work ethic and determination to do well in and out of school, and the passion and support from my teachers,” Ms. Franciscovich said. “I’ve enjoyed my time with the wrestling program, the color guard, and with the teachers that helped me learn a variety of topics, specially within science and history.”
Ms. Franciscovich displayed a knack for pinning her opponents in wrestling. She was All-County at Suffolk’s first girls’ wrestling sectional tournament. She was also the starting goalie on the girls’ soccer team as a senior.
At the 58th annual Blue Devil senior athletic awards ceremony, Ms. Franciscovich claimed the MVP-Goalie Award in soccer and a Coaches Award in wrestling.
The teenager graduated near the very top of the Class of 2026 with an academic grade average in excess of 103. She was a member of five separate honor societies.
