Huntington Chamber Choir to Perform at Tree Lighting

November 14, 2025

Huntington High School chamber choir members will be performing at the Caumsett Foundation’s 2nd Annual Holiday Tree and Menorah Lighting on December 7 at 4 p.m.

Guests of all ages are invited to savor festive drinks while enjoying performances by the Huntington vocalists and local choir singers. A special guest will be joining the celebration to delight everyone with holiday cheer.

“We participated in this last year and it was a wonderful experience,” said Charles Colasanti, the high school choral director.

It will be a busy month of performances for the chamber choir as it appears at numerous events and concerts in the district and community.

Huntington’s 2025/26 chamber choir consists of Caleigh Camarata, Jessica Lee, Casey Myers, Ella Van Horn, Emily Barba, Lauren Dopico, Rachel Huth, Avery Joynt, Michael DiVincenzo, Walter Lopez, Sergio Portillo, Kevin Dominguez, Dennis McCook and Alexander Tine.

The Chamber Choir Honors course is a full-year, one credit class offered to students in grades 10-12. The prerequisite includes satisfactory progress in Concert Choir and a successful audition. It is open to exceptionally skilled students with a teacher’s recommendation and successful audition.

The Honors Choir is a small select choir that presents concerts in the community as well as joining with the Concert Choir in their concerts. Attendance at all extra rehearsals and concerts is mandatory. Members are expected to attend voice lessons every week. The Chamber Choir is a NYSSMA level V and VI performing group and consistently performs at a high level of musicianship. Students are required to learn their own program music as well as the concert choir repertoire. Chamber Choir students receive a weighted grade for their additional commitment.
