May 12, 2025

The Huntington boys’ lacrosse team topped visiting North Babylon on Senior Day at Blue Devil Stadium, 16-2. The victory improved Huntington’s overall record to 12-2 heading into Tuesday’s 5 p.m. home game against first place Half Hollow Hills.

Huntington jumped out to an early 8-1 lead last Friday afternoon and extended the advantage to 11-1 by halftime. The Blue Devil offensive machine was firing on all cylinders with Tommy Smith scoring three goals to lead the way. Brian Lynch scored two goals and added an assist. Timmy McDonald and Christian Luca also scored twice in the game as Huntington breezed past the Bulldogs on a rainy day.

Thirteen Blue Devils either scored a goal or assisted on one. Ryan Divico had a goal and three assists and Luca Cuozzo scored a goal and tallied a pair of assists. Joseph Boeckman had a goal and an assist. Colin Lennon, Connor Fox, Colby Curran and Zach Schnitzer also scored goals in the game. Tommy Kline and Chase Gadaire both had assists. Goalie Will Fallon had two saves.

Once the game had ended and the two teams shook hands, parents came down on the field as head coach Julian Watts spoke about each of the 18 seniors on the roster. The players walked with their families between parallel lines of underclassmen and through an arch of balloons set up near midfield.

The group included Colin Lennon, Parker Wands, Keegan Malone, Connor Fox, Will Fallon, Brennan Ackerman, Chase Gadaire, Brian Lynch, Gavin Deegan, Zachary Schnitzer, James Larson, Timothy McDonald, Thomas Kline, Luca Cuozzo, Antonio Leotta, Thomas Smith, Joseph Boeckman and Nevin Maldonado.

Huntington has won 10-of-12 league games this spring along with a pair on non-league contests.
