It’s a Privilege to be a Blue Devil

Jolie Weinschreider has been a warrior for the Blue Devils. The rising Huntington High School senior has been a star in three separate sports: soccer, basketball and lacrosse and the teenager has also compiled an academic grade average that far exceeds 100 after completing many advanced courses.
Ms. Weinschreider is a leader who has gained the respect of her teammates and coaches. Like so many others in the community she earlier considered options to attending Huntington High School, but she enjoyed such a good experience as an eighth grader on high school teams that eventually there was no question she would be a Blue Devil for life.
The rising senior has given Rutgers University a verbal commitment to play on the Big 10 school’s women’s lacrosse team. But first she has many loose ends to tie up and championships to win at Huntington High School.
Ms. Weinschreider wears Huntington’s blue and white colors with pride and she has brought a level of recognition to the Blue Devils that shouldn’t be underestimated.
“Attending Huntington High School and representing the Blue Devils as a three varsity sport athlete has truly shaped who I am, both on and off the field,” Ms. Weinschreider said. “From the moment I stepped on the grass field as an eighth grader at tryouts, I was welcomed and guided by upperclassmen who showed me what it meant to lead with integrity and wear the jersey with pride. The examples they demonstrated inspired me to grow into a leader myself. As I head into my senior year, I have realized that every practice, every game and every moment spent as a Blue Devil has been a privilege. Putting on that jersey isn’t just about sports; it’s about representing a tradition of heart, grit and unity that I will carry with me long after graduation!”
