Science teacher Marlo Romero presented the scholarships and spoke about the important work performed by the club. The organization’s members are energetic and particularly enthusiastic about their mission.

New World Club scholarships were presented to Julia Aldas (Hofstra University), Cheily Castro Lopez (Suffolk Community College), Lindsay Depeine (Dean College), Luis Hernandez Ramirez (Farmingdale State College), Edher Jacobo Ibarra, Sofia Rodriguez Moreira (Molloy University) and Erika Velasquez Avelar.

In this program, mentors assist teachers by redirecting students and maintaining engagement, creating a positive and productive learning environment.

The club’s executive board in 2024/25 featured co-Presidents Heileen Torres and Katie Sorto; Secretary Julia Aldas; Treasurers Sofia Rodriguez Moreira and Julia Goodwin; Public Relations Coordinator Emely Herrera and Event Coordinator Kevin Dominguez.
