Blue Devil Fall Varsity Team Captains Named

Huntington High School varsity coaches have named their team captains for the fall season. All of the leaders have assumed their positions and are working with coaches to strengthen the prospects of their respective squads.

The captains were chosen by their teammates and coaches. They are all expected to be role models and exemplify the ideals and core values of the district’s athletic program including excellence, integrity, teamwork, tradition, service, respect and diversity and passion.
The captains are also expected to further the Blue Devils’ athletic priorities, including:
• To provide positive and meaningful interscholastic athletic experiences to as many students as possible.
• To emphasize that making the effort to win is more important than winning itself and to encourage and recognize that effort.
• To acknowledge that the true value of sports to the student is in the enjoyment derived from the activity itself and from the relationships developed among coaches and players in practice as well as games.
• To promote fellowship, leadership and teamwork in a competitive environment.
• To motivate student-athletes to seek excellence in study, work and play.
• To develop a high level of physical fitness.
• To emphasize the proper ideals of sportsmanship, ethical conduct and fair play.
• To eliminate all possibilities which tend to weaken the best values of the game.
• To stress the value derived from playing the game fairly.
• To exhibit courtesy to visiting teams and officials.
