Free Breakfast & Lunch in Huntington UFSD
September 8, 2025
Huntington UFSD believes nutrition is priceless. So, the district is “all in” on the statewide initiative to provide students with free breakfast and lunch on school days.
“In order, to maximize the availability of free breakfast for all students, the following types of breakfast services are available for the 2025/26 school year,” said Lauren Kearley, the district’s school lunch manager
Grab & Go Breakfast Cart:
• Students take the bagged breakfast into their classroom from a pre-determined grab & go distribution point(s).
Cafeteria Service:
• For schools that would like to provide traditional service from the serving line, this hot option is available as an accompaniment to the bagged breakfasts.
Breakfast After the Bell:
• Breakfast is available even if a student comes in late. It is served all morning, up until the first lunch service begins. All a student has to do is walk into the cafeteria and ask for breakfast.
“All students eat breakfast and lunch for free,” Ms. Kearley said. “The Community Eligibility Provision [of the law] allows every student to have access to delicious and nutritious meals at no cost.”
Students with questions can seek out the school lunch manager in their respective building. Parents can call Mrs. Kearley at 631.673.2107.
