Grace Gordon Strides Confidently into her Senior Year

September 2, 2025

Grace Gordon strides into her senior year with confidence. She owns a perfect academic grade average, is surrounded by loyal friends and is a star on three separate Blue Devil varsity athletic teams. She was recently named to the All-State team in lacrosse after helping to lead Huntington High School to county and Long Island titles in the sport last spring.

Ms. Gordon plays on the Blue Devil varsity tennis, basketball and lacrosse teams. She’s one of the increasingly rare three sport athletes that the athletic department has been hoping increase in number so the district’s teams can become more competitive.

“Grace is a very supportive friend and teammate,” Bridget Callery said. “She’s always there for us.” It’s a common refrain from her teammates and classmates. They say they can all count on Ms. Gordon.

Ms. Gordon was named All-State in lacrosse after tallying 38 goals and 24 assists last spring. She has given a verbal commitment to play lacrosse at NCAA Division I Lafayette College.

“It was an amazing feeling to be named All-State because it proved that all of the hard work throughout the season and off season paid off,” Ms. Gordon said. “It couldn’t have been done without my teammates and coaches, who surrounded me with a competitive environment that led us to such a successful season!”

The teenager is very well liked around the high school. Teachers respect and admire her and her academic record speaks for itself. Her friends rely upon her to be there when they need her and she never falters. Her teammates have come to count on her in the clutch, when the chips are down and they need someone to deliver.

“Grace is not only an incredible standout on the lacrosse field but she is also a truly amazing friend,” Jolie Weinschreider said. “Whether she’s making me laugh or pushing all of her teammates to be their best, Grace brings positivity and heart to everything she does. She lifts others up, leads by example, and never stops showing up for the people she cares about. I am so grateful to have experienced my high school career with my best friend and can’t wait for the future!”

Ms. Gordon has a smile that can instantly win over anyone. Her sense of humor is appreciated by everyone. While she is a gifted athlete, she has remained humbled and is always working hard to improve her game.

“Grace is the friend and teammate you can always count on,” Ava McDonald said. “She pushes you to give your best, but also knows how to lift you up when you need it. She leads with positivity and the energy she brings makes everyone around her better. Grace is the type of person who celebrates others’ successes just as much as her own, and that’s what makes her such a role model. Her determination, kindness, and loyalty are qualities we all admire and look up to.”

As she strides into her senior year with confidence, Ms. Gordon is looking to make even more of an impact. She started on the Huntington girls’ basketball team that reached the Suffolk Final Four and played tennis on the highly regarded Blue Devil net team that reached the playoffs.
