Huntington Girls’ Tennis Wins on Senior Day
October 9, 2025
The Huntington varsity girls’ tennis team finished the regular season with another victory. The Blue Devils shutout visiting Bay Shore at Coach Cupp Courts on Tuesday afternoon, 7-0. The win improved the team’s record to 11-2 heading in the Section XI individual and team playoffs.
On this same day, Huntington celebrated Senior Day, recognizing the enormous impact the team’s nine seniors have had on the Blue Devils, who have been among Suffolk’s finest girls’ squads in each of the past four years.
Teammates made photo posters for each of the nine seniors and affixed them to the fence around the courts. There was a post-game party courtside and 36 year varsity head coach Jamie Fishlow spoke about each of the teenagers. There were photos of each player with their family members and coach.
Coach Fishlow became emotional more than once as he described the growth displayed by the players and their willingness to do anything to help the team be successful.
The seniors include Bridget Callery, Grace Gordon, Madeleine Kalenderian, Mia Kaufman, Olivia Kaufman, Naomi Lyons, Grace Oliva, Isabella Palacios and Valentina Puccio.
“This team has been defined by hard work and no complaining,” Fishlow said. “They are really a great group and one of my top five teams ever. Each one of them is going to achieve success in college; in their chosen profession and in life.”
