Senior Bridget Callery Commits to Quinnipiac Women’s Lacrosse
October 1, 2025
Bridget Callery has known for quite some time that she will be playing lacrosse at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. The Huntington High School senior gave the program a verbal commitment early in the recruiting process and that commitment has only grown stronger over the past year.

The always calm and very speedy teenager plays midfield and attack on Huntington’s county and Long Island champion girls’ lacrosse team. Last spring she captured All-Division honors while scoring 18 goals and adding 12 assists. Ms. Callery is known for her lighting footwork. Her goal scoring has been described as “always a thing of beauty.”
The senior believes she found the perfect spot to attend college and play lacrosse. “Quinnipiac felt like the right fit for me from the beginning,” Ms. Callery said. “One of my lacrosse trainers played lacrosse there and she really helped me through the whole process. The campus is beautiful, the athletics/facilities are great, and the academics are very strong. The coaching staff and players also really drew me in. The coaches have built a competitive culture and all the players work hard as a team, which was what I was looking for. I am excited to compete at the Division I level and be part of great team.”
Ms. Callery is interested in studying sport and entertainment management. “For a career, I’m interested in managing behind the scenes functions, such as marketing, team management, event management and facility management,” she said.
The senior has earned many New York State Scholar Athlete Awards for her sterling academic performance. Ms. Callery also plays on Huntington’s varsity tennis team.
“My experience in Huntington has been the best,” Ms. Callery said. “I have made friends for life, accomplished goals both academically and athletically and I am thankful to be part of such a great community. This experience will help me as I transition to college.”
With graduation looming next June, Ms. Callery is determined to make every day of high school remaining count.
“Before I graduate, I want to take advantage of the time I have in Huntington,” she said. “Spending time with my friends in and outside of school, maintaining good grades, and having successful seasons in both tennis and lacrosse. I also want to win another Suffolk County and Long Island championship.”
