Multicultural Night Fun at Washington School

November 19, 2025

Washington Primary School’s annual Multicultural Night celebration was a fun educational event for both students and parents.

Multicultural Night at Washington Primary School was fun

“It was a night filled with food, history, culture and laughter as families shared dishes and stories from various countries represented at Washington Primary School,” Principal Dr. Michelle Richards said. “We enjoyed Kimbap from Korea, Perogies and onions from the Ukraine, pernil (slow roasted pork shoulder) from Puerto Rico, empanadas from Colombia, pasta and meatballs from Italy, and so much more.”

It was as if a mini United Nations came to Washington Primary School as countries that many students never heard of were represented. Washington itself is a proverbial melting pot of students who have come together from many different cultural backgrounds.

“Anyone who came hungry left with their bellies full and their minds inspired by all of the love and culture from the evening,” Dr. Richards said. “Washington Primary School is a community that is enriched with many cultures. We celebrate the cultures of our faculty, staff, and students every day!”

Parents rallied for the Multicultural Night celebration and made it an evening to remember for all of the children, with food, flags, games, art, stories and costumes.
