Flower Hill’s Dual Language Celebration Showcases Talents

May 27, 2025

Flower Hill Primary School’s dual language program celebrated another great year with a very special night that showcased the considerable talents of students. A well attended show is helping to end the year on a high note.

The show kicked off with first-grade students from teacher Patty Haack’s class, who sang the charming song “La Araña Pequeñita” (The Little Spider). Their playful rendition of this classic children’s song was a hit with the crowd, setting the tone for the rest of the performances.

Next up were students from teacher Erika Brignati’s second grade class, who took the stage to perform “Día y Noche” (Day and Night). The song beautifully contrasted the two halves of the day, capturing the audience’s attention with its catchy melody and vibrant energy.

During the second-grade segment, students from teacher Arlette Epstein’s class performed a delightful spring poem, followed by the song “La Primavera” (Spring). Their colorful expressions and enthusiasm brought the season of renewal to life, making it impossible not to smile.

Third-grade students, led by teacher Glenn Edwards, added a festive touch with their performance of “Vivir Mi Vida” (Live My Life) – a lively song that inspired the audience to embrace life with joy and optimism. The students also showcased their dance moves to the traditional Mexican song “La Raspa,” adding an extra layer of cultural richness to the performance.

A Special Finale: A Song for All

The final act of the evening was a special treat for all attendees. Students from every grade came together to perform a powerful rendition of “This Land Is Your Land” in English, followed by “Esta Es Mi Tierra” (This Is My Land) in Spanish. This beautiful bilingual performance not only celebrated the cultural diversity of the Flower Hill community but also reinforced the importance of inclusivity and shared belonging.

A Successful and Memorable Evening

The evening was a resounding success, and parents left with full hearts proud of their children's efforts and the beautiful presentation of the dual language program. The students’ dedication and the support of their teachers made the event a wonderful experience for all involved.

“We look forward to more moments like this in the future, where students can share their talents and celebrate the diverse cultures that make Flower Hill a special place,” Dual Language Coordinator Desire Lahoz said.
