Huntington’s Distinguished Seniors Feted at Dinner

The top members of Huntington High School’s Class of 2025 were feted at this year’s Distinguished Seniors dinner in Louis D. Giani Gymnasium last Thursday night.

During the upbeat affair the high achieving teenagers recognized a set of teachers who have meant so much to them over the years. A large crowd numbering about 255 turned out for the annual event that honors Huntington’s leading scholars.
Principal Rochelle Brown and Superintendent Beth McCoy saluted the 105 exceptional students for their remarkable academic performance and noteworthy efforts outside of classes and in the community.
Several Huntington School Board members along with Deputy Superintendent Christopher Hender, Assistant Superintendents Brenden Cusack and Dr. Rubie Harris, district principals and department leaders and Huntington High School Assistant Principals Patricia Avelli and Gamal Smith were also in attendance.

The honorees included Brennan Ackerman, Ella Ackerman, Anthony Addeo, Ashley Alay, Julia Aldas, Gabriela Amaya, Joseph Boeckmann, Brianna Borenstein, Sabrina Boyle, Jupiter Brown, Liva Camarata, Isabella Careccia-Johnson, Sophie Carlson, Andrew Case, Ludo Cattano, Ada Cruz-Gutierrez, Luca Cuozzo, Charlotte Curtin, Aylin Davila Chitay, Jose Diaz Gamez, Lauren Donaghy, Michaela Dopico, Alyssa Evans, William Fallon, Nina Fascilla, Anibella Fazin, Rihanna Fenelon, Valerie Ferriera, Celina Isabel Flores Lopez, Nicolas Flores Vasco, Stephen Connor Fox, Charles Fuller, Chase Gadaire, Vincenza Garofalo, Sofia Gomez Calderon, Janelee Gomez-Hernandez, Isabelle Gregorio, Rafaella Gregorio, Amalia Heinz and Dylan Heller.
Cian Hendrick, Grey Hodgkinson, Jenna Italiano, Edher Jacobo Ibarra, Elizabeth James, John Joyce IV, Griffin Kanzer, Thomas Kline, Emily Kustera, James Larson, Colin Lennon, Antonio Leotta, Maximilien Leroy, Caitlin Maher Dubnau, Keegan Malone, Angelina Marcelino-LaQua, Tess Markotsis, James Masler, Dominic Mattio, Daniel McClellan, Michael Mendikyan, Iverson Menjivar Quintanilla, Charles Michaelian, Mia Molina, Jibreel Murtaza, Ethan Naima, Taylor Nappi, Delaney O’Brien, Molly O’Brien, Maggie O’Toole, Natalie Parrott, Nicholas Plachta, Sean Posillico, Dylan Proctor, Ryan Ramirez, Anthony Retamal Vidal and Erika Reyes were also recognized as Distinguished Seniors.

The honorees also included Toni Reyes-Sorto, Aine Rimkunas, Sofia Rodriguez, Sofia Rodriguez Moreira, Juan Martin Rodriguez Sandoval, Gricelle Rojas, Kai Rotunno, Fernanda Ruiz Soto, Ryan Scanlon, Alexa Schirripa, Jayden Schneider, Kaylee Smalling, Thomas Smith, John Song, Benjamin Soric, Samuel Soric, Devon St. John, Josephine Sullivan, Anne Tyrrell, Angel Uceda-Enamorado, Myah Urena, Harrison Uvena, James Vohs, Parker Wands, Elizabeth Waters and Sophia Weiss.
The seniors were asked to select one teacher to be honored from the first school they attended in the district and from each of their subsequent schools.
The seniors recognized teachers Evelyn D’Andraia (Jefferson School), Eric Mininni (Washington School), Doreen Ellis (Flower Hill School), Denise Reinesch (Southdown School), Keith Meyers (Woodhull School), Sue Curtin (Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School), Keith Miller (J. Taylor Finley Middle School) and Bryan Outsen (Huntington High School).
The large crowd was feted to a delicious meal whipped up by highly regarded Long Island chef Howard J. Fay. Huntington High School administrators and secretaries served the crowd as it passed along tables filled with various dishes.
As the evening’s program finally drew to a close, parents began snapping hundreds of photographs of the seniors as they posed in groups with their classmates.
