Emma Boyle’s Colored Pencil Drawing Selected for Exhibit
March 26, 2025
There’s no stopping Emma Boyle, who is in the midst of an incredible run through Huntington High School. The junior is achieving new heights in the classroom and as an artist and athlete.

The teenager’s gorgeous colored pencil drawing has been selected by the Huntington Arts Council for exhibit at the Main Street Gallery in High Arts Showcase XXI, which will run from March 25 to April 19, 2025. An opening reception is set for March 28 from 4-7 p.m.
“This colored pencil piece depicts a young man playing the guitar, capturing the harmonious relationship between visual and auditory art,” Ms. Boyle said. “Both music and art are powerful languages for expressing emotions, and in this work, I aimed to celebrate the beauty of creative expression. Just as musicians convey their feelings through notes, artists express themselves through color. This piece seeks to illustrate how these two art forms intersect, using color to evoke the same emotional depth and connection that music does.”
The High Arts Showcase Exhibition is an opportunity for junior and senior artists in JOURNEY partner schools to present their artwork in a gallery setting. Students learn firsthand what is involved throughout a gallery exhibition; from submitting entries and writing an artist statement to titling, framing and pricing their artwork. Students' work is chosen by their art teachers.
Ms. Boyle has a deep passion for art, which she has nurtured since childhood. Specializing in colored pencil pieces and sketches, the junior uses her artwork to explore and express her creativity.
Alongside her artistic pursuits, she is an active member of her school community, participating on the Blue Devil varsity cross country and track and field teams and as a student government and Environmental Club member while also being involved in a Bible study group.
