Student Government Food Drive at Shop Rite

March 13, 2025

Huntington High School student government leaders will be out in force on Saturday, March 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. collecting food for hungry community members at Shop Rite in the Huntington Commons shopping Center on New York Avenue.

The teenagers will be collecting all sorts of items, including beans, rice, toiletries, pasta, cereal, canned goods, hygiene products and non-perishable food items.

The goods collected will benefit patrons of Tri-CYA and Huntington High School’s Blue Market (food pantry) & Blutique (clothing and other personal items), which was established to support Huntington High School families facing food insecurity and other needs. Organizers said the goal is to collect and distribute supplies, food and clothing to create a free, comprehensive resource for students.
