Finley Voices Performs at School Board Meeting

The talented vocalist group Finley Voices entertained the crowd at Monday night’s Huntington School Board in the Adam Spector Auditorium at Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School, performing for trustees, district officials and residents.

The dedicated group of students willing comes early to school once a week to sing with others, working on a variety of music. The vocalists will perform at the Finley honors music concert on Wednesday, March 12.

Finley Voices entertains audiences of all ages. It provides an opportunity for students to sing even if they do not have a chorus class scheduled. Students are able to build their confidence and socialize with fellow singers.

“The group enjoys singing a large variety of music,” said music teacher Susan Graber, who serves as the group’s faculty advisor. “This year, the baritones, led by Tyler McDiarmid, created their own arrangement of ‘I Want It That Way’ to perform at our concert on March 12. “The treble voices will perform an arrangement of ‘Popular’ from Wicked. Members have shown a good commitment to the group, coming before school at 7 a.m. once a week to participate.”

The vocalists performed Ruth Morris Gray’s “In this Ancient House” (Momoshiki Ya) and James M. Desjardins’ “Storm.”

The vocalists included Kellen Anderson, Angelina Araujo-Raymundo, Elisabetta Arra, Yahel Barak Elitsur, Ava Bond, Gregory Brandine, Abigail Byers, Isla Campbell, Harper Cohn, Zoey Colvin, Isabella Correa, Brady Duke, Sutter Flynn, Grace Gonzalez, Olivia Guerrero, Mia Hodgkinson, Tallulah Koepele, Celia LoPorto, Katharine Lyons, Montserrat Mani-Munoz, London Martinez, Finn McDermott, Tyler McDiarmid, Vivian Morrissey, William Oliva, Scarlett Phillips, Rose Poli, Elena Prior, Luna Ramirez, Vader Renkewitz, Ruby Richter, Maya Schneider, Helana Sullivan, Imogen Thaler, Ava Tortora, Ella Triolo, Dante Valentin, Abigail Van Horn, Katherine Van Horn and Jenson Walter.
