Cultural Celebration Draws Huntington High School Community
March 7, 2025
What was billed as a “cultural celebration” drew a fun-loving crowd of students, parents, teachers, family and staff members to the Huntington High School gym this week. The nighttime gathering was called an “incredible success” and a quick review of the photos snapped that evening confirm that conclusion.

From 6:30-8:00 p.m. Huntington High School’s rich diversity of cultures was celebrated with over-the-top food choices, music, dancing and artifacts.
Students and faculty members staffed tables representing their heritage and brought food to share. There were 27 tables representing 20 different countries spanning the globe. Many families and community members also joined in on the fun.
Senior Mia Molina Baptista sang the beautiful French song, “La Vie en Rose” and United Amigos club members performed a Latino dance.
The sprawling event was organized by Action Plan Committee faculty members Nadine Araoz (chair), Principal Rochelle Brown, Allison Bean, Becky Arlin, Joseph Leavy, Danielle Huertas and Rosario Lorenzana.
The celebration was timed with World Language Week, which saw that department’s teachers decorate the hallways.
“Our first celebration of culture was a huge success,” Ms. Brown said. “Thank you to the amazing committee on an excellent job. Students, families and staff were treated to tasty delights from a variety of different cultures.”
