Huntington Virtual Enterprise Firms Capture Seven Awards

Huntington High School’s four Virtual Enterprise business firms continue to distinguish themselves. The young businesspeople traveled to LIU Post to participate in the NYS/NE regional trade show and business plan competition and returned back home carrying honors.

“There were 105 schools, with 156 firms and over 2300 students competing in various live competitions for sales pitch and booth design, written competitions for company website, newsletter and sales material, and the business plan presentation in hopes to move one step closer to qualifying for nationals,” Huntington teacher Bryan Outsen said.

Raydiance: A company creating state of the art sunscreen dispensers for outdoor venues to help combat skin cancer. Corporate executives: Nick Normoyle (CSO), Ryan DiVico (CFO), Max Carino (Sales Associate), Marin Mullaly (CTO), Lexi Balm (VP of HR), Mia Johnson (Office Manager), Zain Amin (Sales Associate)

Flo-Pro: A company revolutionizing lawn care with a sprinkler head attachment that distributes eco-friendly liquid fertilizer to residential and commercial lawns. Horizon VR: A company creating a virtual reality therapy experience for teens and adults that helps address various aspects of mental illness: Corporate executives: Frank Algieri (CSO), Banny Soc Concua (CFO), Braid Martin (VP of Sales), Kyra Larsen (Marketing Associate), Sage Cicciari (CMO), Bridget Callery (VP of HR)

Haven: A school safety company that has designed a safe, effective, easy to use and lightweight bulletproof barrier for classroom doors to ensure the safety of students and staff. Corporate executives: Henry Stein (VP of Sales), Jeremy Gross (CTO), Jack Kamenstein (Sales Associate), Spencer Krull (CSO), Walter Kusterbeck (Sales Associate), Grayson Dunn (CEO), Mabelin Maldonado (Office Manager), Kymora Dorvilus (VP of HR)

Huntington walked away from the recent competition with seven total awards after receiving none at last year’s trade show:

“We were tied for second place among all schools in total medals with seven and second place for total golds with four,” Mr. Outsen said. “We also had two of our firms place in the top 50 and move on to the championship round, which will be a Zoom presentation of the business plan on February 12. The top nine teams will then move on to nationals and present at the Javits Center in April.”
