Huntington High School Horizon VR Virtual Enterprise hosted a fun fundraising activity in Louis D. Giani Gym this week after school. The firm planned, promoted and executed all aspects of the first annual Virtual Enterprise Dodgeball Tournament with members stating it was a success.
The students secured the gym, equipment and prizes and posted flyers around the building promoting the event, which resulted in 20 participants on four separate teams.
Organizers created a double elimination, bracket style tournament. All of the proceeds will go towards our trip to the Virtual Enterprise Youth Business Summit at the Javits Center in Manhattan on April 8.
Horizon VR’s executive leadership features Grace Gordon (CEO), Banny Soc Concua (CFO), Braid Martin (VP of Sales), Sage Cicciari (CMO) and James Masler (CTO)
Max Carino was named Tournament MVP and presented with a Door Dash gift card. The tournament was won by the Frosted Ice team consisting of Carino, Christian Luca, Gavin Deegan, Aaron Idise and Ethan Lawless.
Virtual Enterprise is a full-year, one credit honors business class available to Huntington High School juniors and seniors. “Virtual Enterprise is a simulated business that is set up and run by students to prepare them for working in a real business environment,” according to the course bulletin. Course grades carry an “honors weighting.”
