Trustees Adopt School Calendar for 2025/26

February 12, 2025

The Huntington School Board has adopted a proposed district calendar for the 2025-26 school year. Trustees voted unanimously at their February 10 public meeting to approve the plan, which will have school begin on Tuesday, September 2 and finish on Friday, June 26, 2026.

Teachers and staff are required to be in their respective building for meetings on Wednesday and Thursday, August 27-28. There will be 180 days of instruction with three other days set aside for faculty conferences. Two contingency days are also built into the plan to address possible school closings due to weather or other emergencies.

Classes will not be held on Sept. 23-24 (Rosh Hashanah, October 2 (Yom Kippur), October 13 (Columbus Day/Indigenous People’s Day), November 4 (Election Day/Superintendent’s Conference Day), November 11 (Veterans Day), November 26-28 (Thanksgiving recess), December 24-January 2 (winter recess), January 19 (Martin Luther King Day), February 16-20 (President’s Day/Lunar New Year/mid-winter recess), March 20 (Eid al-Fitr), April 2-10 (spring recess), May 22 and May 22-25 (Memorial Day recess) and June 19 (Juneteenth Day).

Should there be an emergency related closure during the school year, classes may be in session on May 22 and/or on March 20, in that order.

A copy of the 2025/26 calendar is posted on the home page of the district’s website at www.hufsd.edu. It will also be permanently posted and available. Go to the Parents tab on the top of the homepage and then to District Directory/Calendar and scroll to Calendars under General District Information.
