Blue Devils Notch High Finishes at Track Invitational

Huntington High School athletes performed well at the Franklin & Marshall College Invitational last weekend in Pennsylvania. The Blue Devil boys’ and girls’ teams competed. The early season trip allowed the athletes to bond with each other and their coaches. Seven Blue Devils finished among the top medalists in several events.

The two Huntington teams departed on one bus on Friday and returned late Saturday night. About 60 high school teams competed in the invitational including some of the top runners and throwers in specific events.

Among Huntington’s highlights:

• Titan Elysee finished third in a field of 87 entries in the 400m in the blistering time of 52.02 seconds.

• Norah Moskowitz placed seventh in a field of 69 in the girls’ 400m run in the fine time of 1:02.44

• Eric Heinz was second in a field of 75 in the 800m run in a time of 2:02.81.

• Robbie Campbell broke through the difficult 40 foot barrier and placed eighth in triple jump in a field of 22 entries with leaps that measured 40-05 feet.

• Colby Curran was third (45-11.75 feet) and Banny Soc Concua was sixth (41-04 feet) in shot put, which drew 52 entries.

• Anis Oyuela was third (32-02 feet) in the girls’ shot put, which featured a field of 40.
